Spanning four stories, this LEED Silver facility—also serving as UCF’s teaching hospital— features 80 total patient beds, four ORs, 20 ED bays, administrative support spaces, and room for future expansion. It provides general surgery, internal medicine, OB/GYN, emergency services, pathology, and radiology. Through a Lean construction approach, including Integrated Project Delivery, Layton provided cost-saving options for the client, such as prefabricated components for MEP racks, the central plant, and the headwalls, footwalls, and sink walls for toilet rooms.
