Prequalify to build with Layton on COMPASS.
Prequalification isn't paperwork for its own sake. It makes our trade partners more competitive, increases the likelihood of repeat work, and sets the foundation for a partnership that actually delivers for our clients. All trade partners complete a single form through COMPASS, a web-based platform that satisfies multiple prequalification requests at once, so you do it once and move on.
Here's what you'll need to complete your COMPASS prequalification and contract work with Layton:
Financial Statements
Prepare your balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for the last three consecutive fiscal years.
Safety Documentation
Have your OSHA 300/300A logs for the past three years ready, along with your current Experience Modification Rate (EMR) letter from your insurance carrier.
Current Project Backlog
You'll need a detailed breakdown of your active projects, contract values, and remaining backlog estimate.
References & Project History
List your recently completed projects, including contact details for general contractors or owners who can speak to your performance.
Signed Safety Declaration
Layton requires all trade partners to sign our Safety Declaration annually before contracting. This must be signed by an owner or officer of your company, and we'll collect it prior to any contract signing.

Familiarize yourself with Layton's safety protocols by reviewing our Project Safety Management Plan (PSMP) before starting work.
Layton is part of STO Building Group (STOBG), a family of construction companies that share a single prequalification platform. If you already use COMPASS with another STOBG company, no additional registration is required. Here's a list of STOBG companies: Abbott Construction, Ajax Building Company, BCCI Construction, Govan Brown, LF Driscoll, Pavarini McGovern, RC Andersen, Structure Tone, Structure Tone International, Structure Tone Southwest.
EXEMPT FROM PREQUALIFICATION: Vendors, suppliers, crane operators, and professional service providers (architects, engineers, surveyors, SWPPP contractors, etc.).

Once you submit your completed COMPASS 1Form, submissions are typically reviewed within 5–7 business days. You'll receive confirmation once your prequalification is approved.
