Using Lean methodology, Layton tackled this complex vertical expansion complete with prefabricated components throughout. The project team planned and worked strategically and creatively so the operating facility would remain unaffected by construction. In total, the addition included a NICU with continuing care nursery, 36-bed med/surg unit, 15-bed rehabilitation unit, CT scan and MRI upgrades, labor and delivery renovations, and support services. Beyond the tower, Layton built a precast parking garage to add 220 spaces.
