Wichita Falls, Texas (10/27/2025) – United Regional Health Care System held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new two-story, 53,000-square-foot imaging center and retail pharmacy. The facility is scheduled for completion in December 2026.

The center will consolidate and expand United Regional’s imaging services, which have experienced sustained growth in patient volumes. The facility will house advanced diagnostic equipment, including state-of-the-art MRI technology, CT scanners with cardiac and AI-enhanced functions, and a full suite of imaging modalities.

“Imaging has been a cornerstone of healthcare at United Regional, with a large portion of patients requiring imaging services when they come for care,” said Mark Wright, Director of Radiology at United Regional Health Care System. “As volumes continue to grow, we identified the need to expand our department’s capacity and capabilities.”

The building’s design prioritizes patient flow and accessibility. Upon entry, patients will be directed to their specific service areas through a central reception point. An integrated retail pharmacy will be located within the facility, allowing patients to fill prescriptions immediately after their appointments.

“This is the type of healthcare project our team excels at,” said Mike Coleman, Director – Texas Healthcare at Layton. “We’re building a facility that combines technical complexity with patient-centered design.”
