R.J. Donovan Correctional Facility

Layton’s advanced BIM efforts were crucial in coordinating the complex infrastructure of this first design-build corrections project for the State of California. The LEED Silver facility includes three 264-bed housing units. The project incorporates support components such as programming, healthcare support (clinic, dental, and x-ray), food service, laundry, and visitation areas. The dormitory-style housing was constructed using a precast module in tandem with precast concrete tilt panels and CMU walls.
