Renovating a 24/7 manufacturing facility while they produce 800 engines a day.
The Cummins Rocky Mount Engine Plant (RMEP) is located about an hour east of Raleigh and the Research Triangle Park. This facility is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and produces nearly 800 engines per day for clients worldwide. Layton was tasked with expanding and renovating various areas throughout the plant as Cummins prepared for the installation of a brand-new engine manufacturing line. The scope included demolition, structural steel and concrete placement, MEP infrastructure upgrades, site improvements, and an above-ground storage tank and containment.
