Project Mastodon | Automated Robotics Fulfillment Center

Completed in only 16 months, Project Mastodon is a five-story automated robotics fulfillment center with 1,366 parking stalls. Built on a 147-acre site, the project required cement stabilization of soils, off-site roadwork, and construction practices to protect the adjacent wetlands and local endangered species. Due to the harsh Midwest winter, long lead times for electrical and plumbing equipment, and a volatile steel and roofing market, the project team adjusted the schedule to accommodate the long-lead items that would necessitate enclosures being built around them.
