We’ve rounded third are heading home and heading home at the Charlie Monfort Field at American First Ballpark!

Construction kicked off last July at the former Utah Baseball practice field and is on track for a 2026 season debut. The topping out event at the Charlie Monfort Field celebrated the placing of the final steel beam, signed by the team and our crew, marking a major step in bringing the team back to campus after years at Smith’s Ballpark. As Utah baseball continues to grow in the Big 12, this facility will deliver the home-field energy, fan experience, and training environment of a true Power Conference program.

Highlights include:

⚾ FieldTurf playing surface

⚾ Seating for 1,200, plus outfield berm

⚾ Locker rooms, coaches’ offices, and medical facilities

⚾ Indoor batting and pitching cages

⚾ Concessions, restrooms, ticket office, and team shop

Layton is honored to be teamed up with University of Utah, Utah Athletics, VCBO Architecture, and We Are Populous—the ultimate lineup to deliver a home run for the U.
