Redding, CA (May 14, 2026) – History is being made in Redding as Layton Construction places the final CLT panel on the highly anticipated Redding Rancheria Tribal Health Village. The facility, on 34 acres near Clear Creek and State Route 273, will provide a holistic, whole-body approach to healthcare—combining medical services with wellness and community-centered amenities.
This facility has been three decades in the making, first appearing in the Redding Rancheria Tribal Health System’s long-term plan in 1996.
“We will be proud of our work on this project for the rest of our careers,” said Layton Construction Manager Robert Mitchell. “The Redding Rancheria Tribe is creating an extraordinary health and wellness facility for the community, and the Layton team is going above and beyond to turn this incredible vision into reality.”
The design process began with an exploration of the history of the community—its values, culture, and respect for the land. That insight shaped everything, from the siting of the building along Clear Creek to the materials and forms that reflect the tribe’s heritage.

The Health & Wellness Campus, designed by LPA brings medical care and wellness together under one roof—reflecting the tribe’s mission to practice proactive medicine, not reactive medicine.
The campus will feature:
- A 70,000 SF outpatient clinic offering primary care, dental, behavioral health services, and a pharmacy
- A 90,000 SF wellness center with a gymnasium, fitness and training spaces, natatorium, and hydro and physical therapy facilities
- A three-story atrium filled with natural light, serving as the welcoming heart of the facility with displays honoring the tribe’s history and elders
- Outdoor amenities including grounds for cultural celebrations, walking trails, nature gardens, a recreation pool, campgrounds, and a memorial garden honoring tribal elders
The facility is designed to meet LEED Gold standards, oriented to maximize natural light and views of Mt. Shasta and neighboring Clear Creek. Building forms and materials reflect the heritage of the tribe, with natural regional materials used inside and out.
“The Redding Rancheria Tribe has poured decades into their vision for this wellness center,” said Layton Executive Vice President Cris Bryant. “That level of commitment is contagious and it drives our team to deliver work we’re proud of.”
Construction is expected to be completed in 2027.
