Highlands Ranch, CO (June 24, 2026) – Amid Colorado’s looming 2030 healthcare shortage, where it’s estimated the Centennial State may experience a shortage of as many as 2,400 doctors, Layton Construction and UCHealth have completed a pivotal expansion of their Highlands Ranch Hospital.
“It’s our hospital too,” says Director of Business Development Conor Ryan, “Several of our team members reside in Highlands Ranch, and contributing to enhanced patient care in our own community is deeply meaningful.”
Over half a million manhours went into the completion of this project, with 16 different trades and 250 workers on site at peak operations.
The Highlands Ranch Hospital expansion includes:
- Five-story tower
- Cancer center
- Expanded stroke and cardiac programs
- 14 emergency beds.
The cancer center includes a state-of-the-art linear accelerator, the installation of which required pouring 6-foot concrete walls on all sides without impacting patient care.
“Being good neighbors is imperative to all of us at Layton,” adds Ryan, “To allow caregivers to focus on what they need to, we take any additional steps necessary to minimize any distractions, whether that means working nights or being thoughtful in our material deliveries.”
Construction began in summer of 2023.
