Clearwater, FL & Pembroke Pines, FL (March 13, 2025) – Layton Construction is continuing to grow its presence in Florida’s healthcare market with the groundbreaking of two new freestanding emergency departments (FSEDs) in Clearwater and Pembroke Pines, the ribbon cutting of HCA Florida Wellen Park Emergency on March 21, and the recent award of a new FSED project in Spring Hill.
With four significant FSED projects in just three weeks—three of which involve the same design team—Layton’s deep experience in healthcare construction is on full display.
HCA Florida Countryside Emergency
Located at 2209 Main Street in Clearwater, this one-story, 10,860-square-foot emergency facility will feature a resuscitation major exam room, six multipurpose general exam rooms, an airborne infection isolation exam room/decontamination suite, a bariatric exam room, a pelvic exam room, a behavior health exam room, a triage area, CT, radiology, a lab, and support spaces. The site will also include associated parking, underground detention, and landscaping—ensuring a seamless patient experience.
HCA Florida Pembroke Pines Freestanding Emergency Department
The 10,000-square-foot, 11-treatment-room freestanding emergency department will operate as a satellite department of HCA Florida University Hospital. Designed for efficiency and accessibility, the facility will feature a waiting area, exam rooms, trauma treatment areas, a lab, a nurse’s station, and other critical support spaces. The project will also include two covered entry canopies—one for emergency vehicle access and one for public drop-off.
