Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children

Completed on an extremely tight site, this master-planned campus expansion turned an outdated hospital into a state-of-the-art tower. Also home to the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine, it includes 70 private NICU rooms, 26 PICU rooms, 12 obstetric beds, an adult med/surg unit, outpatient clinic, rehabilitation services department, women’s services, conference/education rooms, and updated dietary and nutrition space. Prior to construction, the project required demolition of an old parking structure, relocation of existing utilities, and significant seismic upgrades.
