Kaua’i, Hawaii (November 18, 2019) — Layton Construction and its employees are known for giving back to the communities where they live and work.
In Hawaii, Layton employees and family members spent Veterans Day building homes and hope on the island of Kaua’i. The volunteer group is helping build multiple homes in the ‘Ele’ele Iluna subdivision. After arriving at the Habitat for Humanity jobsite, the group divided into teams to tackle roofing, siding, painting and standing walls.
The organization expressed its appreciation to the Layton team for their work with this note, “MAHALO Layton Construction. Way to BUILD ALOHA!”
A few days later, Layton’s Southern California office worked alongside local businesses to raise more than $200 and collect several bins of dry goods during their Thanksgiving food drive.
This donation was delivered to Families Forward in Irvine on Nov. 15. Families Forward exists to help families in need achieve and maintain self-sufficiency through provisions such as housing, food, counseling, education, and other support services. This donation will go a long way in helping them accomplish their mission.
“It is a privilege to be able to give back to our communities, as well as a civic duty,” stated Eden Shepherd, associate estimator, who organized the drive. “I’m so grateful to everyone who helped put this together and donated their time and money to helping others. It was a huge success!”
