Virtual Design & Construction/BIM
Layton has a strong, centralized virtual design and construction (VDC) department that collaborates with our estimating, scheduling, and field teams—assessing every last detail of each specific project. With this team of dedicated VDC professionals, our technology brings additional value to all aspects of the construction process, including:
Site logistics, including access planning
Safety planning and training
Schedule planning and visualization
Estimating and quantification support
Collecting/tracking project data (equipment and room data/BIM to FM)
Quality assurance, including full virtual mock-ups (VR)

Estimating
Our estimating software combines several activities that once require separate software into one integrated platform. It provides full integration with BIM for 5D estimating and leverages data to its full potential. As a result, we bring transparency to our approach, and clients can feel confident in our numbers long before any dirt is turned.
Scheduling
Designed to handle large-scale, multi-faceted projects, our scheduling software enables our teams to access information from anywhere at any time and share that information with owners. Moreover, we can monitor and visualize project progress and identify alternative project plans, if necessary—keeping projects on track and clients in the loop.
Document Management
Whether it’s virtual mockups or RFI logs, all construction documents can be accessed from virtually anywhere using cloud-based platforms. This provides the project team, owner and key stakeholders up-to-date information in real time.
