Ribbon Cutting at New Unicoi County Memorial Hospital in Tennessee
ERWIN, Tennessee (October 22, 2018) – The ribbon was cut today at Unicoi County Memorial Hospital in Erwin, Tennessee.
Unicoi is a not-for-profit 10-bed modern medical facility located along the banks of the picturesque Nolichucky River, nestled against the Unicoi Mountains in the Southern Appalachian Mountain Range. The facility offers the latest technology in diagnostic imaging, a 24/7 emergency department, cardiology and women's services including 3D mammography.
“We're grateful to be part of the new Unicoi County Memorial Hospital,” said Andy Jodway, Senior Project Manager at Layton Construction. “This rural hospital will have a profound impact on the community, and it was a privilege to work with Ballad Health from start to finish. I'm proud of the whole Layton team and our Design Build partners. The setting is beautiful and exemplifies the same within the people of Unicoi County who the facility will serve.”
The hospital currently employs roughly 115 staff members. UCMH's 10 private inpatient rooms all feature mountain views.
