Features include:

  • Indoor elevated running track
  • 45-foot climbing wall
  • Three full-sized basketball / volleyball courts
  • A multi-activity court
  • Two group fitness studios
  • Student lounge space
  • Outdoor Recreation program, storage, and store
  • Intramural, club sports and fitness administration offices
  • Cardio loft and weight rooms, locker rooms

Layton successfully managed project specific challenges including utility tie-ins, a small project site, heavy student traffic on all four sides, an accelerated schedule, a stretched subcontractor market and harsh Logan winters.

The Aggie Recreation Center also earned the 2017 Outstanding Sports Facility award from the National Intramural and Sports Recreation Association.

It’s the facility’s fourth award. It also received a Utah Construction & Design magazine Most Outstanding Project Award, a 2016 ENR Mountain States Merit Award and a Utah Masonry Council & AIA Utah Excellence in Masonry Design Award.
