Layton’s Commitment to Green Buildings & LEED Programming

Layton currently has more than 20 LEED Accredited Professionals™, with a goal to get a total of 30 employees accredited in coming months. The LEED Professional Accreditation sets apart those in the construction and architectural fields who have demonstrated that they have the knowledge and skills needed to successfully manage the LEED certification process by passing the LEED Accreditation Exam. LEED APs have a deep and thorough understanding of green building standards and practices as well as the LEED Green Building Rating System™.

The LEED Green Building Rating System™ is a voluntary, consensus-based system evaluating proven technology. It evaluates environmental performance of all buildings over their life, providing a definitive standard for what constitutes a green building. Credits are earned for satisfying each criterion, and different levels of certification are awarded based upon the total credits accumulated. LEED was instituted by the U.S. Green Building Council membership, representing all segments of the building industry.
