Layton Construction Employees Earn LEED® Accredited Professional Credential
BOISE, Idaho (March 31 , 2008) – Two Layton Construction Company employees have successfully completed the United States Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Professional Accreditation program. Jeff Miller, General Manager of Layton’s Boise office, and Jeremy Hobbs, Project Manager, are now LEED Accredited Professionals.
The LEED Professional Accreditation sets apart those in the construction and architectural fields who have demonstrated that they have the knowledge and skills needed to successfully manage the LEED certification process by passing the LEED Accreditation Exam. LEED APs have a deep and thorough understanding of green building standards and practices as well as the LEED Green Building Rating System.
Miller has more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry obtaining and managing projects. He received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from California State University and is a licensed Construction Manager in the state of Idaho. Miller is experienced in all aspects of construction, including bidding, buyout, contract negotiation, project control, scheduling, supervision, marketing and multi-project administration. His current responsibilities for Layton Construction include maintaining Layton’s Boise office, business development, pre-construction and construction management.
Hobbs has more than 10 years of experience in the construction industry. He has performed in both project management and superintendent roles and has experience working with large corporate, private and public clients from small build-outs and remodels to large new construction projects. Hobbs’ most recent Boise projects include the Boise State University Parking Structure #2, Cabela’s and Stevens-Henager College. He received a bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering from Brigham Young University.
